Join us for Family Saturdays, one-hour-long presentations featuring excerpts from New York City Ballet‘s repertory performed by company dancers and members of the NYCB OrchestraMegan Fairchild, Principal Dancer and Family Saturdays Creative Director, hosts the programs, offering insight on choreography, music, and dancers. Specifically designed for children ages five and up, Family Saturdays are the perfect introduction to NYCB and the world of classical dance!

BALANCHINE FOR BEGINNERS

New York City Ballet’s Founding Choreographer George Balanchine is best known for his iconic work The Nutcracker, but did you know that he also choreographed over four hundred other ballets? From the world of Greek gods to the Scottish highlands, you’ll see some of his greatest masterpieces and learn about the dance legacy he created for generations to enjoy. This program is the perfect introduction to Mr. Balanchine’s choreographic world for any ballet beginner!
