Event description:

Through poetry, music, and stories, a powerful community of artist-activists give voice to the everyday heroes working to uphold and extend LGBTQ, women’s, civil, immigrant, and human rights.

Poetry: Dakota Camacho, Rashidah Ismaili, Enriqueta Lunez, Haki R. Madhubuti, Willie Perdomo, Julian Randall, Peggy Robles-Alvarado, Sonia Sanchez, Matthew Shenoda, and Yolanda Wisher

Music: Chief Joseph Chatoyer Garifuna Folkloric Ballet, Kelsey Pyro, Lone Piñon, Nina Dilet & The Mysphitz, and Raye Zaragoza

The event is free, and seating is first come, first served. American Sign Language Interpretation available on Saturday, July 27th.

Location: Hearst Plaza

Hearst Plaza is located behind David Geffen Hall between the Metropolitan Opera House and the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Lawn, flanked by the shaded green trees of Barclay’s Grove to the south. The center of the plaza showcases the infinity pool of the Paul Milstein Pool and Terrace surrounding Henry Moore’s famous sculpture, Reclining Figure.Hearst Plaza is often the site of high profile television and photo shoots as well as Lincoln Center Out of Doors music, dance, and family events.All of Lincoln Center’s outdoor spaces are equipped with Wi-Fi access.
