 Man’s newest film\, The Device That Turned Me Into A Cyborg Was Born The
  Same Year I Was will be premiering internationally. The Leslie-Lohman Mus
 eum of Art will host the NYC premiere. The film will also premiere in simu
 ltaneously in Sydney\, Australia at the Powerhouse Museum and in London wi
 th Nowness.\n\nThis film explores the nuances of life on a continuum betwe
 en the Deaf and hearing world\, oscillating between a daydream and nightma
 re as Man steps into his autonomy as a Deaf adult. We witness the constrai
 nts of machinery and how immobilizing it can be to live and breathe as a c
 yborg. At its core\, this film is an anthem on self-love and exploration\,
  paralleling the lessons that intimacy has granted its director and lead a
 ctor\, Chella Man.\n\n“Growing up without representation\, I never felt 
 intimately desired.\n\n... let alone beautiful in my trans\, disabled\, mu
 ltiracial form.\n\nThe liberating news is: I don’t need others to feel b

 Museum strives to provide a welcoming environment to all visitors. Externa
 l steps lead to our entrance doors: a wheelchair lift is available. All ga
 lleries are wheelchair-accessible\, and a single-occupancy accessible rest
 room is located behind the visitor services desk: all restrooms are gender
 -neutral. Large print didactics are available.\n\nLight refreshments will 
 be offered. This is a mask-optional gathering. Guests are welcomed to wear
  masks\, and masks will be available at the museum front desk. We may prov
 ide additional instructions ahead of the event for registered guests.\n\nI
