  for a screening of My Name Is Pauli Murray (Julie Cohen and Betsy West\, 
 2021\, 91 min.)\, a candid portrait of the groundbreaking attorney\, activ
 ist\, priest\, and dedicated memoirist\, told largely in Murray’s own wo
 rds. Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray (1910–1985) shaped landmark litigation—and 
 consciousness—around issues of race and gender equity. Murray paved the 
 way for the development of intersectional legal theory\, played a profound
  role in both the Civil Rights and women’s movements during the 1960s\, 
 cofounded the National Organization for Women (NOW)\, and overcame gender 
 barriers to be ordained as an Episcopal priest.\n\nBefore the film\, Derri
 ck T. Jordan\, Director of the Gender &amp\; Family Project at the Ackerma
 n Institute for the Family\, offers opening remarks on how you can support
  trans youth today. The screening is followed by a conversation between di
 rector Julie Cohen and Dr. Kimberly Springer\, curator of the Oral History
  Archives at Columbia University’s Rare Book &amp\; Manuscript Library a
 nd long-running collaborator with the Pauli Murray Center. Plus\, enjoy an
  after-hours viewing of The Slipstream: Reflection\, Resistance\, and Resi
 lience in the Art of Our Time.\n\nTickets are $16. Member tickets are $14.
