 the launch of Céline Semaan’s memoir A Woman Is a School with the autho
 r. Semaan is the founder of Slow Factory\, an organization dedicated to ad
 dressing intersecting crises of climate justice and social inequity throug
 h education\, narrative change\, and regenerative design. In this book\, s
 he weaves personal and familial tales of resistance in Lebanon between 194
 8 and 2023. As a child refugee and survivor of war\, Semaan channels her a
 ncestral lineage of hakawati—storytellers of the Levant\, who hold indig
 enous knowledge.\n\nThe program begins with a performance by a zaffe band\
