DESCRIPTION:The ASL Tour is exclusive to visitors who are Deaf\, hard of he
 aring\, and their companions. \n\nClick here for tickets and more informa
 tion.\n\n\n\nJoin us for an American Sign Language (ASL) Tour of the newly
  open Design Across Time exhibition. \n\nDesign Across Time: Exploring 
 Smithsonian’s Design Collection brings together more than 125 works acr
 oss multiple design disciplines including product and graphic design\, fas
 hion\, textiles\, digital design\, wallcoverings and architecture. Led 
 by Deaf educator\, Debra Cole\, this program will dive into design stra
 tegies displayed within Cooper Hewitt’s collection.  \n\nAfter the ASL
  tour\, join the curators for a conversation about this major new insta
 llation that highlights the breadth of the national design collection. Th
 ey will discuss the process of curating the exhibition\, including develop
 ing themes and selecting objects from our permanent collection\, which 
 includes over 200\,000 objects and spans over 30 centuries.  Refreshme
 nts will be provided at the conclusion of the illustrated presentation. L
 earn more about the lecture.  \n\nRegistration is required. The ASL To
 ur and subsequent program are free for visitors who are Deaf or hard-of-

 sentation and group conversation in ASL about the National Design Award
 s. There will be no English interpretation. There will be a 15-minute br
 eak after the ASL Tour before the lecture program begins. \n\n\n 	About t
 his space: Seating with backs are available. The museum is fully whee
 lchair accessible. There is an accessible restroom on the ground floor. R
